Dcf In Thailand?

Featured Replies

Hi to all.

I realize this is the proper forum for this question of ours. Does the American embassy in Thailand perform direct consular filing for US citizens with non-Thai wives/husbands? I am Filipina and my fiance and I plan to marry in Thailand, stay there and get a visa directly if we can.

We would love a Buddhist ceremony, by the way. :o

Yes, I know 2 chinese wives that have gotten immigrant visas from Bangkok in the last year. As long as you are resident, the nationality of your wife does not matter.

Note it is not really a DCF as there is a USCIS office in Bangkok that processes the I-130.

Thanks, vinny and thailhome.

Can you please tell me more about those Chinese wives? Were they also Thai residents? For how long? What about the Americans? Were they retirees?

A key piece of information was omitted in this thread - neither party is resident in Thailand:

He is not on extension stay in Thailand. We are looking at entering as tourists together for a 30-day stay intiially and then extending it. I would like to know how we can qualify for an extension after we marry there.
Thanks, vinny and thailhome.

Both husbands worked for major MNC in Thailand and had lived her over a year. Wives were on dependent visas based on husbands visa and work permit.

Does not sound like you will be able to apply at Bangkok USCIS. The first thing they check when you ttry to turn in the I-130 is your passport for visa extension.

I think since the Adam Wash act passed I don’t think you can do a DCF anywhere without residency in that country.
