Bangkok Governor travels to inspect blaze hit pork district

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) Governor Apirak Kosayothin traveled to the Khlong Toey area’s pork community to inspect damages to some 25 homes that have displaced 50 families over a 30 rai radius after a fire ravaged the district. The flame that started from the home of Mr. Chavalit Uam-arun (ชวลิต อ่วมอรุณ) did not result in any injuries or fatalities.

The governor has ordered tents to be erected to facilitate citizens displaced by the blaze as well registrations of families who are in need of aid. Authorities have initially speculated that Mr. Chavalit’s home had left candles burning which caused the fire to start and are now negotiating with different agencies to decipher the best practice for reconstructing homes in the area.
