Ever since I first saw this guy, I thought he is crap(reminds me of myself trying to play). He can't control the ball, trap the ball or pass the ball. All he would be good for is heading the ball but he doesn't seem to score many. AFter watching the game yesterday, I really don't ubderstand. can anyone fill me in, please?

For someone so strangely shaped, especially for a Profession al Footballer, his ball control isn't actually that bad..

Shouldn't be contemplated for England though & because he plays for Liverpool, shows how backward that Club has gone from the actual " Liverpool way " that they used to bang on about all the time, ok European Champions in 2005 & Finalists in 2007, but any true Red i'm sure would be the forst to agree that the actual standard of Football hasn't been great at all duting that time which coincides with a Player like Crouch playing for the Club, in my very honest opinion.

At 6' 7", he is ungainly - similar to Kevin Francis (same height) of Stockport County. In my opinion, Jack Charlton, although smaller by about 4 inches, had the same ungainly style as do many tall players.

I think Crouch is a pretty decent player, but certainly not good enough to be playing international football or playing for a club like Liverpool. The problem with having a player like Crouch in the team is that teams, then start hitting long hopeful balls into the air hoping that he will get them. I think most people would have seen from Saturday the impact Crouch has on the style of play.

Considering Crouch's size, he's actually quite crap in the air, and in fact probably has better control with his feet. As Mr Hippo pointed out, he's a bit like Kevin Francis, who terrorised the lower leagues a few years back, but Francis was actually good in the air, but he wasn't an international player.

Well , we all know that Crouch is pretty crap when compared to others , but if he hadn't come on as a substitute against Inter Milan we probably wouldn't have won the game .

He is a nightmare for defenders because they know they can't leave him alone in and around the box which creates space for the likes of Kuyt and Gerrard ( both scored last night after Crouch came on ).

I was not to happy when we signed him and wouldn't be to upset if we sold him but I think he is a decent enough lad and gives 100 % every time he pulls on the Liverpool shirt and I do like him for that .

Jumping to his defence - he is on record as saying as much himself - when asked on Soccer AM what he would be if he wasn't a footballer he replied with 'a virgin'. And lets face it - this probably isn't the place to be talking about blokes with women who are only after money now is it ??

I do not mind him as a player, as others have said he always gives 110%, is good with his feet and brings something different to the play. I like to see him introduced as a sub, the way he was against Milan as he changed the game for us. Whether he is an international player or not well thats upto Mr Capello but he has got a pretty good scoring record at that level. And as for the scissor kicks - quality !!
