Tv Members With Pickups...

Featured Replies

I know there are a few of you out there with pickups :o !

I need advice from ayone who has used their truck for towing. I need to tow a trailer carrying a car and was wondering which of the trucks out there would be most suitable. I am willing to transplant a 4litre V8 engine if necessary, but would prefer to avoid the time delay that would require.

Similarly, if anyone can recommend a place to by a suitable trailer to tow a car on, any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

I think all the trucks are suitable.. especially the 3.0 diesel engines.

I use my Vigo 4*4 manual to tow our speedboat. No problems at all.

With trailer it weighs 2650kg. I believe it's possible with to tow 3500kg with the 3.0 diesel.

About the trailers.. That i dont know.

I have been told by an insurance agent that the car insurance here in thailand does not allow for a car or pickup to tow or be towed, in such case the insurance is voided!

One of the Thai's I know pulls a generator behind his pick-up and he either gets a warning or ticket each time. My understanding is that towing is not looked upon kindly but I am not sure if it is in fact illegal

well there never seems to be any bother with the "sam lor" towing 8 jetxkis down to the beach each day, speed boats going past and also yachts being towed around.

Must admits to having only seen a few cars being towed and never seen a U Haul or similar
