So I have my laptop plugged into a small speaker. The only application running is explorer. The speaker has been on for a few hours and its been silent, as it should be. But out of nowhere I'm now hearing Thai country music. if I unplug the speaker from my computer, I hear nothing through my laptop speakers.

Something to contemplate for anyone else out there with too much time on their hands.

Laptop = ungrounded? Try removing phone line and see if that shuts it off. I had same problem with desktop before used grounded receptacles as music was pickup from phone lines. I would run a ground wire from your case (can use screw on any bare metal surface - such as connecter for ports). Might also improve modem operation.

or just enjoy the free music smile.gif No need to buy a stereo anymore.

This is caused by the recent installation of the Thai Country Music Server within Thailand in the present governments attempt to become the "HUB OF FOLK MUSIC AND STRANGE PHENOMENON"

Sorry guys just had to get that one in before someone else said it. :o
