A Where To Buy Question - 2 Unrelated Items

Featured Replies

Thai visa is great and I really do appreciate all the resourceful members and the valuable infomartion that gets posted here. so thank in advance!

Ok I want to buy a real pair of sunglasses. Polorazied lenses, glass lenses. There are SO many places now .. I think either Ray Ban or Persol have glass leneses and I like both.

So where to get the best price??

Im tired of cheapo sunglasesses that break avery few weeks. Is Phuket town cheaper then say Central or Kata?

2nd questions. Buckwheat pillosws. I saw them once in the Tesco hallway, an independent seller. but not since. I now strange qustion but thanks. Central has some new pillows in the new Japanse import section but they are filed with plastci I think... :o

good sunnies can be bought at any of the optical shops around the island. you can usually bargain a bit on prices in the shops and get some freebies thrown in. thats my experience anyway.

buckwheat pillows - hmmm. i think i have seen them in central near the supermarket at times when they have the little expo/promotions on. ive never seen them in the department store itself. you could perhaps also try the basement floor in jungceylon.

Not sure about the pillows, but as for the glasses, there's a place on the ground/proper 1st floor of Jungceylon actually marketing that they're not 'overpriced' like most shops! Last 2 pairs I've bought were online and I had them sent to me by a family member. Never sat well with me forking out 9000 baht or more for a designer pair I'd pay 2000 baht for at home if you know where to look!

The shops here may drop a little but it was never what I considered 'value for money'! Good luck!

I'm a big Ray-ban fan and I have bought my last two pair at an optical shop in Central.

I think it's the second floor, across from the Siam Commercial Bank branch there.

Listed at 5200thb I got them down to 4000thb which is about what they are in the states.

Donna, Yes the expos! Good tip, start checking the non permanet stands. Should have bought it when I saw it!

Thanks for the tips on the sunglasses, I would have never known that the prices are negotiable in all these modern looking shops!!!

And huggy thanks to for the Centran tip!
