I just found out that there are insurance companies unwilling to insure cars running on LPG.

AIG is one of those! As per head office policy, if you install LPG in your car, it will completely void your policy, both first class and third party. Even the bail bond insurance will refuse to pay, so in case of an accident you might very well find yourself locked up at the local cop shop!

They will however pay you back the remaining months of your policy when you cancel and move over to their competitors!

QBE has no such problems, they only want to see the paper from the certified and licensed installer, and will send somebody out to double check the installation is done properly (as per the paper supplied by the shop).

No information on CNG conversions though, but assume it's the same story...
