is it possible at all to use this modem/router?

pls some advice

thanks in advance

I use primary DNS of 203.144.255.71 - not sure it what you are using is valid or not but it is not what they recommend on web site.

Do you have a network connection made up and able to sign on ok?

ok lets start from the beginning,

modem settings as follows:

modulation : mmode (auto detects modulation type)

PPPoE

VPI = 0

VCI = 100

username and password filled in

nat enabled

firewall disabled (to avoid conflict with running software firewall)

pls show me the next steps to cinfigure internet and network connection

thanks in advance

Make sure it is also set for "LLC" also. I would first login into the modems web interface and insure the connection is up then work from there. Make sure DHCP is turned on the modem and your network card is set to get a IP address.

:o thank you all for the support, but had to further than the nose, on www.dlink.in.th

is a firmware upgrade specialy for thai internet, which explains the missing LLC on PPPoE

the only things needed to be set (a wizzard came with the firmware upgrade) where PPPoE, VPI and VCI rest was detected auto.

billion modem which made the os hold in the drawer just in case...

kind regards,
