a lot of people here need to take a chill pill (not literally)

like all things in life customs and traditions evolve. Christmas used to be about giving... not commercialist buy buy buy crap. Easter used to be about new life... not silly chocolate eggs. Dont simply blame all the tourists coming over here for the fact that the thai idea of songkran has evolved into what it is now.

In lamai it was the usual all out water war Ive come to expect every year. Yes, you see people being unsafe... but that's thailand to the core is it not?

5 on a motorcycle, people piled in the back of trucks, construction workers using no safety equipment etc etc. you all know the truth of this place. Stop scapegoating every non thai person for their problems based on your own western expectations of society.

You chose to live here so dont moan about the way it is, just get on with life and be safe yourselves. If everyone was as reasoned and sensitive as you all seem on this topic then it'd be a much safer festival. They're just not, and that's life.
