Obtaining Kor Ror 22, is a trip to MOFA in Bangkok required?
They should never keep the originals, they may be requested in the future for other purposes. Although I married in Thailand, I had my legalised copy of passport ID page and affidavit to marry all copied by laser jet copier (still have the originals) and the Amphur accepted those as I don't think they could tell any difference anyhow. @soihok Take note and good advice to take good copies of these documents for safekeeping. -

Travel Terrifying Flight as AirAsia Plane Slammed by Hailstorm – Nose Crumpled, Cockpit Damaged
You are most certainly wrong, as was already explained in a previous post. The pilot has the right to make the final decision. The idea that a pilot would have to contact someone high up in the government for approval to fly around a severe storm is absurd, even in China. No international airline would go anywhere near China if that were true. Rules Governing Operation of Foreign Civil Aircraft in China: Article 31 In case of hazardous weather that will endanger the aircraft en route or in the vicinity of an aerodrome of departure or landing within the territory of the People's Republic of China, the relevant ATC service of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China may advise the pilot-in-command of the aircraft in the affected area to postpone the take-off, turn back or make a diversion to an alternate as appropriate. The pilot-in-command, however, has the right to make a final decision for which he is likewise to be responsible. -

Travel Suvarnabhumi Airport to Introduce Prototype Indoor Smoking Rooms by End of July
To be fair... both are just as bad... then there are those who want to watch their phone, or parents who can't control kids, those who bring their own stinky food etc.... ... Loads of people are inconsiderate of others... So... the 'stinking of smoke' thing... is a thing... its not nice, and using the excuse that some people get drunk and difficult doesn't make someone who reeks of smoke reek any less.... ... But... clean, well ventilated smoking area's would... and if there aren't any reasons people may be sympathetic towards smokers, thats one reason non-smokers might want to consider and also support clean well ventilated smoking areas.... Give smokers an air-side outdoor cafe area too - why not ?... It could be profitable too... -

LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
6% is good, but I suspect many might only be looking at 5% or less in terms of what they can get for interest. What sort of health insurance can one get for $6k/year? Even with higher global interest rates, relying on that interest to pay for health insurance may not be reliable strategy for some applicants - dependent on their age. While some countries offer exceptionally high interest rates, they are often tied to volatile currencies or require deposits in foreign banks, which may be difficult for a non-resident to open and keep open given some banks do not like non-residents having an account with their banks. For stable currencies like the USD, a high-yield savings account or fixed-term deposit in a reputable international bank might offer a rate of around 4-5%.. At a 5% rate, a $100,000 deposit would generate $5,000 in interest per year. This amount could cover a basic health insurance policy for a younger, healthy individual. However, for older applicants, or those with pre-existing conditions, premiums can easily exceed this amount, rendering the interest insufficient. So I recommend caution and some good research here to the OP. Best wishes in what ever approach the OP chooses. -

Crime Brazilian Couple Arrested at Samui Airport with 20 Million Baht Worth of Cocaine in Luggage
The airports and countries share data on suspicious cases and contents. I got stopped arriving into London from Thailand. Customs were on me like a rash as my passport would not work in the e-gates. Went to counter and customs were there in seconds. Full search of cases and a million repeated questions over the next hour. They wouldn't say if they were tipped off by Bangkok but that is the only way they could have blocked my entry at e-gates. I even saw scan copies of my 2 bags on their monitors (showed orange for organic matter - same as some narcotics). My "crime"? Transporting the ashes, in an urn, of a dead and cremated acquaintance for his family (I had all paperwork including death certificate etc). They are very hot onto information sharing so no surprise these two Brazilians got caught after so many flights (and likely bag scans).
