my partner of 17 years has now just started a two year contract teaching in an international school,my two kids (12 and 14)also go to the school.

her visa is getting sorted next week, they've now said they cant get me a visa because we aren't married. (me being the male in the relationship).

can anybody advise me on the chances of getting a year visa in penang, taking a letter from the school, kids birth certificates, photocopies of every document i can find. or will i have to settle for a 90 day multiple entry?

any advice on what paperwork i need would be greatly appreciated as the school dont seem to have a clue as they havent been in this situation before and i feel i need to sort it myself before it gets too late.

oh i came in on a type O 90day visa (single entry) that the school told us to get.

thanks in advance

Hi Mort,

It is my understanding that unless you marry your partner you will be consigned to visa runs. Thai law doesn't recognise common-law relationships.

Scouse.
