List Of Favourite Restaurants In Phuket

I recall @schlog posting some information about the eatigo app a little while back, but can't seem to find it now. In any event, I used that app a couple of days ago in Bangkok at the Royal Orchid Sheraton weekday lunch buffet, and it saved me nearly 1,000 baht. Regular price is 930 baht inclusive of tax and service, but the discounted rate was 465++, with the total bill coming to 1,020 for 2 people. As was mentioned before, their website is broken (strange for a fairly new site), but the android (and I assume iOS) apps are fully functional. Quite a few restaurants in both Phuket and Bangkok offer substantial discounts when booking with this app. Thanks for the tip @schlog!

Great to hear that you enjoyed eatigo DrDave.

Hope that we have soon here the same choice for hotel buffets like in Bangkok. Btw one of my favorite 50% shots there is Voila@Sofitel with its amazing cheese room.

Yes, if you're leaving Immigration, turn right, then left at the traffic lights.   It's about 100 metres on your right, just after the lake.   There's quite a large car park at the side.

ร้านกล้วยน้ำว้า

definitely not named phuket coffee in thai ????

We went to a place called "Golden Chicken" in the new central was good you wanna see the menu it must have cost a fortune to produce I got a bit worried there was no prices when I looked the prices where in the back like an index.

Cost us a 1000 Baht for the 2 of us very well presented and tasted good, the only downside that day a couple of things I wanted that day they didn't have I think that was down to the suppler not delivering

I have nothing but good things to say about Krua Nong Built.  They're 1 of the only couple remaining restaurants which actually deliver on Foodpanda in Karon (never been there in person) since the lockdown, but even before that we noticed their consistent freshness and speed of delivery.  Quality is decent and prices are quite low.  Quantity is not huge but adequate for the most part (avoid chicken wings though - I found them quite tiny).

They have never messed up an order nor failed to deliver promptly and it's always steaming fresh - a reliable favorite for us.

For those of you who live in Chalong and love plain rotis and chicken curry gravy to dip them in for breakfast, no need to go to Sai Yuan in Rawai anymore.

At the Phuket Country Home market, that is open every day, there is now a stall (with tables) selling all varieties of roti. It's at the back of the market, next to the road that runs down the side, close to the back of the market. The Rawai place is better and cheaper, but, it's too far to go from Chalong. What's re-assuring, is it's run by a lady ninja and her husband.

Do you like Cantonese dim sum?

(The writer has no connection whatsoever with any commercial dim sum enterprise, and is just a mad lover of Cantonese dim sum!)

'Hong Bao' is a restaurant in BKK; there are at least two there. It is a Chinese restaurant, and they do a selection of Cantonese dim sum.

I have long dreamed of Hong Kong-quality dim sum in Phuket. I don't really get on with Thai dim sum. I've eaten a lot. It looks very nice, but I much prefer Cantonese.

I did find a tiny place two years ago, opposite the old Honda showroom, on Chao Fa West. They made their own noodles and soup dumplings (xiao long bao). It was fantastic, until it changed management and now it has a sign up and looks closed.

But now ... da, daaa!

Hong Bao is in Phuket, with a full menu, though I've only tried the dim sum so far. The restaurant opened in January, and I went there yesterday, after a recommendation from a Hong Kong Chinese lady who said it was very good.

It is very good!

Best Cantonese dim sum in Phuket, probably ever.

It's not cheap as chips, but my wife and I had as much as we wanted, for just under 1,000 THB total.

Full menu here: https://www.ramadaplazachaofah.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Hong-Bao-Full-Menu.pdf

Restaurant here: https://www.ramadaplazachaofah.com/facilities/hong-bao-ramada-plaza/

Enjoy!

EDIT!!!
I have just checked out the rest of the extensive menu, and it's VERY expensive, like a totally different restaurant!
Morning Glory with garlic and chilli ... 250 THB!!!!
Whaaat!
It's great for the dim sim, but good luck with the rest!

The prices of the dim sum are 5 to 6 times that of the Thai version.  More expensive than dim sum in Singapore or Hong Kong.

I'm sorry you're unimpressed!

I'm sure the dim sum is more expensive than Thai, but it isn't Thai, it's Cantonese, and very good Cantonese at that.

There are some places where you might pay a little less in Singapore or Hong Kong, but there are also a lot of places where you would pay more.

The fact is it's here, in Phuket, and that's a big step forward if you like Cantonese dim sum.

At 500THB per person, for an occasional treat, it won't break the bank. Why not try it?

I am sorry that I have given you the wrong impression.  I wasn't comparing apple with apple.  For freshly made dim sum, I would pay more than the normal frozen Thai dim sum.  However, I am surprised that it costs the same as in HK and Singapore if not more.  Thank you very much for your suggestion to give it a try.  But I would rather get my dim sum fix when I run errands to HK or Singapore.  However, good to know they are also available in Phuket.  Thanks for the info.

You're kiddin', right? Can't explain it better than I already have, though, here's a hint. There is only one side of the market that has a road running alongside it.

Sorry......you're looking for the market rather than the stall.

From the circle, go along Chao Fah East and then turn left at the second set of traffic lights. Open every day in the morning.

It's the road that connects the two Chao Fah roads behind Wat Chalong.

I was put off by your response.  Do you know how many markets in Phuket has a road passing on one side?  I was looking for the roti stall.  Anyway, I found the Phuket Country Home Swimming Pool and Learning site.

Thanks anyway for the follow up.

However, a new one that we visited a few days ago is worth of a mention.   "Burger Cafe by Chef Tan" has only been open for a few months, and is actually the home of the chef/proprietor.   Until earlier this year, she'd operated a restaurant in Karon, which she's temporarily closed for the obvious reason.   It's not an easy place to find, being at the end of a soi on the opposite side to Home Pro Village on Chaofa West, a few hundred metres further north.   There is a small car park though, so no parking problem if you're in a car.

Seeing your recommend we thought we would have lunch there today. However I missed you other side main road comment so we wondered about the small sis on the HomePro side. Not find on Google maps. (along on reread your post I zoomed in on the other side of road and did find Chef Tan on expanded map).

So as wife hungry we crossed over to East road to Baan Kanom where we had no eaten there for some long time. Excellent service, clean, and good prices. We enjoyed. Pork steak 129 Baht.

Try Chef Nan tomorrow.
