WICKET! Ponting c Prior b Finn 1

Ponting strangled down the legside! A nothing delivery from Finn, really, Ricky tried to turn it down leg, and it was taken behind. Umpire gave him not out but England appeal and that is given out on review. He gloved it. Oh Ricky! My God, he must be livid. He looked sure that he hadn't got anything on it, but Hotpsot says otherwise. Yep, that was a pretty big glove, and the Aussie captain has failed again. If his team cannot get a score here, are we seeing the end of an era?

So who's going to captain the fourth test then?

One thing that is increasingly obvious over the past season or two is that Ponting has lost any enthusiasm for winning. And that makes him most un-Aussie-like.

If Australia win this test (a possibility) Ponting adds to his record of most tests won by a captain. So the irony is, despite not personally contributing on the scoreboard, he will probably retain his job.

It's very quiet in here today.

So quiet you can hear the rattle of leather on stumps all the way from the WACA.

This is then followed by the dejected thump, thump, thump of boots as the English batsmen head back to the Braai for a bite of biltong.

;)

I used to like you.........

Not just a possibility - 2 days to go and England only have 5 wickets in hand (that's when I refused to check any further) - it looks like a damned win for the other lot.

Aussies Thrash the Useless Poms in Perth.

Australia crushed England by 267 runs in the third Ashes Test at the WACA ground today to level the series at 1-1 with two matches to play.

Play lasted only 48 minutes on the fourth morning as the tourists were rumbled out for 123 after being set 391 for victory, losing their final five wickets for 42 runs.

Som num na!

I couldnt agree more......we'd only have to go back a page or two to see all those pommie gloaters - WELL LETS SEE THE COLOUR OF THEIR TUNE NOW- L O S E R S

I think the lads thought it was only fair to let you win one to keep a bit of interest going until at least Christmas. We will resume normal in Brisbane.

Ha ha ha.....

Yeah Rite........

NOT..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bah......Next you lot will be saying you actually know how to play the bloody game...............

Don't say too much, Suiging - after all our top order batsmen seem to have been taking lessons from Mr R Ponting recently - so there must be some acknowledgement among certain classes that the Aussies have an ingrained memory of the basic principles and precepts of the game.

Dear Oh dear, I know the Aussies haven't been making quite so much from the bookies, but did they really need to bring their own contact into the side...............?

The Ashes: No sledging has 'affected Australia'

Chief executive Paul Marsh told the Sydney Morning Herald that Australia's performance had worsened since players were warned to tone down their aggression after a bitter test against India in Sydney in 2008.

The head of the Australian Cricketers' Association says the form of the national team has deteriorated because of the players' fear of a public and official backlash against the "sledging" or verbal abuse of opponents.

Game is much better to watch for it.

^Not being able to sledge affects form? It seems that CEO Paul Marsh is a seller of bridges.

Fools, it's bloody summer in OZ...No snow at all for sledging, that bloke Marsh is an idiot.

I've got a sledge hammer - would that be any use?

Santa's sledge is coming........

If Siddle starts in on 'im, 'e'll be back up the chimbley before you can say Gerrrrrorrrfffffff.

Remember (according to Marsh) that sledging improves your performance. Put it to use:

- when driving a car

- while singing hymns in church (ah yes, I like this one. 'Hey thickhead, you sing like a camel!')

- when discussing politics over a beer at the local

- during business meetings

- when doing 'the other' in the cot

In particular, sales and customer service staff take note! (Already have? Okay...)

You must be talking about three Aussie wickets gone before lunch.

Ponting reached double figures, however, so the England bowlers can't be trying too hard.

(I'll eat my words later, with the turkey sandwiches)

Sorry, my mistake.

Four wickets before lunch, then the Aussies bring on the rainclouds.
