My sister inlaw is always telling me stories of when she had to "play army" in high school. This included camping, jungle patrols, and ambushing the "enemy", which were classes from different areas. Notice the older man on the right. I assume he is the instructor.

Nice photo.

But I wonder if you really need a diffuser when shooting in broad daylight unless if there's anything in the frame that might reflect ugly glare (like the Formula 1 car and helmet you shot), when the available light diffuses the strobe light.

I rarely remove it.

I like the spread and evenness it gives, especially when at a 60 degree tilt- the colouring is more naturally also.

A pleasant natural shot.

As stated the arms are antique, relatively, so not real soldiers.

School cadets would be my quess.
