My wife's three year old JRD Surf, which is a Wave 125 copy, has just had a major engine rebuild; cylinder skimmed, new piston and rings, new exhaust valve. All the rubber hoses rotted within 6 months of the purchase, so no one though to put tropicalised rubber hoses on it! Last engine rebuild was about a year ago. Thus I live in comfort that it can use Honda spares, even though it spends alot of time (and reasonable money) being fixed. My advice is don't touch them unless you want to spend time and money fixing a new motorbike. If you can't afford a new Japanese bike, then buy a second hand one (preferably newly new).
