SOURCE: Pattaya City News: May 16th 2008

Luxury Car belonging to Australian Resident set on-fire by foreign gang.

In the early hours of Thursday Morning, Police Lieutenant Colonel Chayaporn from Banglamung Police Station made his way to the Meun Phan Villas in Soi Kow Noi to deal with the aftermath of a fire. A White Toyota Fortuna owned by a 74 year old Australian house owner at the Villas had been completely destroyed. He explained that as he was driving home, he noticed that he was being followed by a black Mitsubishi Triton containing a group of foreign men.

The Australian parked his car by the side of his house and went inside. Moments later he heard an explosion and saw his car engulfed in flames. Any possible motive behind the attack was not forthcoming from the victim and Police are investigating.

What luxury car was involved? Did the Fortuner blow up and scorch the paint of a passing Bentley?

:o

Yes, groups of Triton driving foreigners cruse the streets of Pattaya looking for Fortuners to let alight for no reason :o

As Fortuners in LOS cost as much as a Merc or Bemmer abroad, they are considered luxury vehicles!

hang on! i was the WHITE Limited edition version

extra luxury......

I'm confused ... Were the foreigners foreign to Thailand or foreigners as far as the Aussie man was concerned ?

Naka.

"Hard to fathom. rolleyes.gif"

There's not much we can fathom without knowing a lot more about the victim's business affairs.

All you poor jealous people who no doubt can't afford a car.

WHo cares what the title of a message says. Havn't you got better things to complain about.

Fortuners are a great vehicle for the money.

Stick to your motor scooters, scratch your pennies together for your next beer and stop complaining about those who are better off than you.

Nothing suspicious here. Probably just a pickup full of gents going home after a long days work, one flicks his ciggy and it lands near the luxury car fuel tank and it blows up. happens all the time

For a random act - to torch someone's car there is more than a simple road rage incident here.

Maybe the story will unfold....

Clearly another suicide attempt.

Clearly an accident, hope the self locking doors were open :o
