Cable Thieves Arrested

Two Thai men, one aged 19 the other 22, were caught by police volunteers from Sattahip as they attempted to steal electrical cable and other material from a house owned by a foreigner in Bang Saray.

The house is not occupied and has no furniture but the thieves decided they would attempt to steal as much electrical cable as possible as this was easily sold to shops in the area. Police volunteers doing a routine patrol of the area spotted the men robbing the house and arrested them.

The pair said they were formerly fishermen, but the price of gasoline is now so high they decided a life of crime might be more rewarding. They were taken back to Sattahip police station and charged with theft.
