Hi

Does somebody know what's happening with the Thai motorbike market? Yamaha now is selling big bikes from their stores, but they don't seem to be much cheaper than the grey imports before as far as I can tell. Still it was impressive to see a R-1 in the Yamaha shop in Chiang Mai.

I just read in the BKK post that Honda will do the same, e.g. offer a bunch of their big bikes officially.

Does anyone know:

- How much cheaper do big bikes get with the free trade agreement with Japan? Is it a sliding scale where import taxes get less and less every year or is this it?

- What about the change in classification for 250cc bikes, how will that affect import taxes? How much are they now (I know they are horrendous) and how much will they be after that change?

thanks for any info...
