June 2, 200817 yr When you renew your license and go from the one year license to a five year license do you need the proof of Thai residency again either from the Immigration Dept. or your country's embassy?
June 2, 200817 yr I'm afraid so...I have to get round to getting the letter from the embassy too. Has Immigration Division stopped issuing letter confirming residence?
June 2, 200817 yr Just got mine for 5yrs. and all the needed was immg. letter they did not even ask for embassey paper. and its free..................

Apparently some offices have, but many still issue them. I don't know exactly which do or don't, would be worth asking your local immi before heading to your embassy.
June 2, 200817 yr got one last week from Kap Cheung Imm & with that and 'sick note', they have given me a nice shinny cr card style 5yr DL (x 2)
