New father here... our son is currently one-and-a-half years old.

I'm looking for reference on pre-schools (nursery and kindergarten) and am thinking of starting education at 3 years old. Is this too young? Too old? How long does a nursery/kindergarten term last? Is it a 10-month program, or is it less than that?

Primary (elementary) school curriculum here has six (or seven) grade levels, does this mean that my son should start at 5 years old? Or is that too soon?

Secondary (high school) curriculum has another four years here, is 12 years old the right age for that?

Tertiary (collegiate) education has four, sometimes 5 years more, which means he should be done with the ideal education by age 20... is that right? It all sounds a bit too rushed. Can anyone point me to a reference site that can tell me more about this kind of thing, please.

Cheers! — Möe
