Hi one and all

Im toying with the idea of moving back to Bangkok (currently live in Central Thailand) and quite like the idea of Thonburi; it seems quite pleasant. I have seen apartments going for rent at Metro Park, a new complex of several apartment blocks with lagoon style swimming pools, nice gardens etc.

It has only just been built and it does seem a little remote - being off a highway, with no sois adjacent to the complex. However it looks nice and the budget is ideal for me to rent, ranging from 10 - 20,000 for a nice one bed place. Its also close to the Southern Bus Terminal which i will be using a couple of times a month.

Does anyone have any first hand opinions on the place? Is it totaly finished yet? Everything up and running? As i will be using a motorbike, would that be advisable or is it the type of place where a car would be much much better? Any ideas when the new BTS stations will open and how far they are from Metro Park? If i rented a place in 'phase 1' would i be able to use the lagoon pool in 'phase 3'? Are the rooms all as nice as per advertised or rather dingy when you actualy check them out? Are there any shopsin the complex? Is the gym open and running? Mostly Thais or a mix of Thai and ferang? Is there anything going on in the area such as bars shopping etc?

Thonburi; Nice place to dwell? Ill be hoping over to Sukhumvit most weekends which seems easy enough. By my best guesses, it looks like a 30 minute journey on either BTS or taxi?

Sorry for the 20 questions and thanks in advance for thefeedback.

Cheers

I think it just a function of not many farangs in Thonburi. I travel back to BKK this month to transfer my newly built condo in Thonburi, and I'm the only white farang to buy in the complex. With the trains not going there, seems neither do the tourists. That doesn't bother me any, and the time I have spent in Thonburi I have loved so far, but only been there daytimes until later this month.
