Seatran suppress the new connection Donsak-Phangan and start again the Samui-Phangan.

what does that mean, they no longer run donsak-phangan? is raja the only car ferry on that route now then?

also, should one book the car ferries in advance or is it ok to just show up?

Donsak-Phangan ferry, only Raja ferry. Usually no need to book in advance, enough to present to the pier 30/45 minutes before the leaving time. (in low season)

I understand that the SeaTrans ferry is running again between Phangan and Samui, and heard it leaves Phangan at 6:30 am and leaves Samui for Phangan at 6:30 pm. And no, they are not running the Phangan-Don Sak route as it didn't have enough traffic.

As for the idea that one can get on Raja 30 minutes before it departs, well, risky. I would get there at least an hour before. And don't count on getting on because it could be full. The mid-day trips seem less busy than the evening ones.
