Palm Treo 600

Featured Replies

Anyone looking for a decent PDA phone should check out the new Palm Treo 600, loads of great functions, 256K memory card, can go upto 1GB, email, surfing on the go. Don't usually go on about gadgets, but definately worth the 22K I paid.

Anyone else use a good PDA.

I am a pda addict. Just picked up a HP 4700...love it (except for the touchpad). Doing the wireless LAN thing at home, just rocks. VGA screen is awesome.

I have a Ipaq h4300 for sale. Found I don't need it in Thailand.

I am using Ipaq 3417.Love it.Got bluetooth and WirelessLAN.I agree that HX4700 should have been a killer device if it would have had a RAM of 128 MB ,instead of just 64 MB and a better D pad, instead of that touch pad

Yep. I'm pretty sure we won't see a touchpad again. The next releases are rumoured to have 128 MB (but will not be VGA, unfortunately).

Just tried Pocket Skype a few minutes ago to talk to a friend in Vietnam over the WIFI/ADSL. That is a ###### cool app (as far as the PDA went anyway, our ADSL connection speed is not really up to the task).

I picked up a Nokia 6230 a couple of days ago - will be signing up for EDGE shortly :o

I got the same plan.Infact you don't need to sign up for EDGE.Just surf Edge if you have an Edge Enable Phone.i.e 6230 :o Dtac now has complete BKK EDGE coverage. But do you know that bluetooth maximum transfer speed is 112 K/s.But I don't think that Edge would be clocking 200 k/s as there are a lot of users in BKK already. :D

CrushDepth,I assume you have set up Ad-hoc network and sharing your ADSL from your Desktop to your PDA,right? How about the sound quality and speed of Skype on it?

Got a router with WIFI (SMC barricade), so the PDA is connecting directly to the internet through the ADSL. The sound quality was just as good as on the PC and I was just holding it like a phone, not using a headset.

Overall the sound quality wasn't great, but I think that's due to speed problems with our ADSL, which is only running at about 120-150KB. Intermittently it sounded really clear.

(When I use Skype at work where we have a 'real' 1.2 MB/s connection its as clear as a bell).

That's about the same as they go for on eBay.com, a good price for Thailand.

How does it work for email?

Bluetooth max speed is 384kbits/sec, if you are only getting 112 check your serial port settings on your devices.

I am waiting for the dell axim X50 which will be released in november, thought about an X30 until I saw the specs for the new one.

:D

Excllent outlook type email, very quick using the GPRS, and you can include attachments.

The Treo 650 is out very soon - read a review through Gizmodo and it sounds great

Just got myself a Sony p910i though so I'm broke for now
