Hi all

anyone stayed at White House or other places in Choeng Mon and what is the area/beach/water and restaurants/bars like ? Obvioulsy we'll have Chaweng down the road but would Big Buddha area or bophut be nicer places for drinks food etc in the evenings?

The White House is a very good choice. A very intimate and romantic hotel if that's what you're looking for.

I rate Choengmon Bay as the best bay/beach on Samui. Big, good sand and quiet. There's some great restaurants there and if you're looking for nice and relaxed bars, you'll find them as well, although they may be quiet!

The Imperial Boat House would be a good choice as well, but is a lot bigger and doesn't have that intimate touch and feel that the White House has.

Although I never stayed at the White House myself, all the folks that I know that stayed there were very enthousiast about the place.

As you say, Chaweng is down the road and so is Bophud for that matter.

Pending on what you're looking for, Choengmon Beach is a very relaxed area and the White House is a very fine choice on IMHO the best beach on Samui.
