Last year True move stopped the ESPN / Star sports broadcasting of the premier league and started showing the games on True1/2/3 etc.... Although the actual games are great we english commentry, we have now lost the english presenters, so now, before / half-time and after the game we get these Thai guys speaking Thai.........great if you are Thai!!!...I use to like listening to John Dykes / Sheeby / Paul Masefeild etc......

Does anyone know if this year it will be the same???

...or if this year we will be able to get the games through cable operators on channels such as 'supersport' ...with english presenters of course?

...I might stop my True / UBC contract if the premier league continues the same as last season!!

any info would be great

True Visions have the rights to the Premiership in Thailand (and they paid a lot of money for it too), so not sure how you think another channel would be able to air the games.

I'm sure until the rights come back up for bidding, we're stuck with what we've got. But hey, look on the bright side, at least we get English commentary. :o

In Singapore it moved to Goal TV but I still got the nuggets Sheeby etc on another channel to watch - they can be daft but fun.

I do get English pre-match guy's but they are nonentities on Goal TV

i am looking for the same

Personally i like it this way, more time to go get more beer, take a leak and such to a chorus of whoa hoa's, mai geng this, mai ben that by the guys that look like they have never touched a football outside of PS3 in their lives.

If you stop your subscription because of this, don't ask to come watch the games at my place.

True visions have another 2 years left, so get use to it.

Personally i don't care about listening to all the them clueless pundits anyway,if you need to catch them on football focus on tuesday spouting their usual rubbish.

At least now you can watch EVERY game (if you have platinum and almost all if you have the gold package) i mean, how bad is that?? And as somebody else said at least we get English commentary, thank the lord, now that would have been a reason to complain.

So stop your bitching and enjoy :o

Then again, i wouldn't have said that Paul Masefield actually looks like he's touched a football either!

I don't think True will react if you cancel your subscription, since they have more Thai than foreign subscribers. Despite having a pretty good understanding of what they are saying, I don't really listen to a word they are saying now. I find something else to do before/after the action starts/finishes in each half.

Paul Masefield talks a lot of twaddle too, so I don't watch Football Focus either. He's the guy that you moved away from in the days of terracing at football grounds. Unfortunately, these days season ticket holders in all-seater stadiums are stuck sitting next to people like him for the entire season!

You should feel fortunate that you can watch the Premiership in a foreign country. It might be the best league in the world but they don't HAVE to show it.

As far as ex-professional English speaking football commentators are concerned, their input into my enjoyment of the match is negligable.

there is a cable tv provider, called tv chum chon, phone numbers as follows, 02 374 4512, 02 375 1579.

it has five of the sth african supersports channels, ch 1 ch2 ch3 ch5 and either ch6 or ch7.

the cost is 350 baht per month, dont know if they cover every area, i live in bkk.

you may have to get a thai person to call for you.

the only problem is we now have to listen to the likes of terry paine ( in the ass) and eddie lewis, but it certainly beats paying for rip off turd visions.

As a West Ham fan I am more than happy with the coverage. I get to see every game live.

The only time I ever got to see them on ESPN/Star was if they were playing one of the so called big 4.

A tip . At half time in the 3 oclock game switch over to BBC World Service on the radio and get half time reports from around the UK.

Well you still can see the match with English commentary so I don't see why it's that big of a deal. Isn't the match more entertaining then suits in a studio talking?

Yeah, he has actually played for a few clubs, Birmingham, Stockport and Exeter. I think he's touched a few more steak and kidney pies than footballs in recent years though. :o

thanks for all your tips.

looks like true visions have the monopoly on it.

yeah, your right its not the end of the world without the pundits,,, but actually they do speak a lot of sense.....i think all of them know football considerably more than anyone on this forum.

PS- I dont think supersport 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 etc from south africa are showing the games....they didn't last season.

For sure, they all picked Chelsea in the Champions League final, they sure are smarter than me.

Of course they speak a lot of sense, didn't they also suggest a succesful season for Liverpool and England last year? :o

haha...

yeah maybe your correct,, but that is just predictions.....different from game / player analyzing.

Gambling firms would go out of business if people could always make perfect predictions!

Okay, Shebby also feels that Steven Gerrard should play at right back for England. Sounds interesting.
