Well, if I'd had a dog for 3 years or whatever, and it was a choice between a rented home or the dog, I would choose the dog and move home.

my guess is, that they really want you out and are using your dog as the excuse. how long have you lived in the house with the dog?

have you not thought of moving to a dog friendly house, there are many about. I rented off Sukhumvit and we had 3 dogs. not a problem with the owner of the house.

It was ok at the beginning, however, the owners of the house happen to be my next door neighbors also. The landlady has developed an illlness and no longer tolerates his occasional barking. The house is nice. 8,500 Baht a month fully detached on Sukhumvit rd (10 min walk from Major Cineplex Ekamai). Where will I be able to find such a bargain??? and finding new house on Sukhumvit is practically impossible unless I fork out 20,000 Baht something a month. Something I don't want to do. So, the only choice I got is to find him a good new owner, a dog lover, someone who is willing to take care of him well....

I know how you feel I am a dog lover myself I would love to take him on but I am affraid I get

killed by my wife since we have already 5 dogs at home.

well, if you're not going to move from a rented house to keep your dog, I suppose you could try a muzzle at night. Some people do the vocal cord thing which quiets the animal. Not sure how humane that is.

If I can find a nice new house in the same area for 8.500 Baht a month or even 10,000 Baht then yeah sure I'd move. But my chances of finding a house in that price bracket in 2008 is virtually impossible. I've been that same rented house for years. Hence the 8,500 Baht a month only. Moving away from the area entirely would be impossible too coz of family and stuff like that...

He barks a little just like any other dog. You know poeple walking past or other dogs in the nieghborhood barking, he'll then just join in. At night he's very quiet actually. No one walking past our house so no problem there. It's just that the landlady recently got ill and no longer wants to hear any noise. She complains about other neighbors' dogs as well but they aren't renting from her so they'll just tell her f off. i can't do that because I am her tenant who pays only 8,500 Baht a month for a nice house....

What I will do if I can't find a new home for him. I'll keep him and hope for the best. My contract is up for renewal in October so the only thing I can do is pray and hope the landlady understands the situation I am in... but she did say "either the dog goes or you go"

That is a bit extreme. I am not sure I want to see my boy go thhrough that type of surgery especially since he's just a normal dog. Does bark just like any other dog really.

I don't want to sound too callous, but how ill is the landlady? Indeed, is this new found sensitivity something to do with the medication? If she is very ill, and her life expectancy is limited, it might be worthwhile finding a temporary

home for your dog, until the "inevitable" happens. I can only assume that her life must be pretty miserable in Bangkok if she cannot tolerate the barking of dogs!

Maybe you could take your 'little boy' round to your neighbour's house and introduce them to each other. Maybe she could derive some comfort and pleasure from the company of your dog.

Don't you debark trees? Never heard about taking the bark out of a dog. Must be painful.

I want to thank the many TV members who have pmd me and offered to adopt him.

I found my dog a wonderful new family and he is no longer up for adoption, in fact he now lives with his new family!
