2 COLLEGE STUDENTS DEAD IN CAR ACCIDENT AND MANY INJURED

Third year vocational students from Sattahip Technology College were in a speedy car that had crashed into a motorbike. Two were dead instantly and other two sustained serious injury. The couple on the motorbike was also injured badly.

First Lieutenant Nitipum Butr-wong, Banglamung, was notified at 5.30pm on August 21st, 2008, that a car had crashed into a motorbike and there were death and injuries.

Police team and Sawang Boriboon rescue rushed to the scene which occurred in front of Child Rehabilitation Institute, Chonburi, Sukhumvit road, inbound to Chonburi, Moo 3, Banglamung, Chonburi.

At the incident, a bronze Nissan Cefiro car, license 1703, Bangkok, had crashed into a red Yamaha JR motorbike, license 8585, Konkaen. Both car and motorbike had fallen off to the roadside, completely demolished. Officials found 4 injured boys got stuck inside the car. All of them were in the 3rd year in civil construction department from Sattahip Technology College, Chonburi.

Officials managed to help 2 sufferers out of the car. They were Mr. Sanchai Raksaphan (18), the driver, and Mr.Phongsak Rungrote (19), the passenger behind the driver's seat. Both of them were severely injured.

But Mr.Sombat Nithiprasertwit (18),who sat on the left to the driver and Mr. Natee Raksaphan (18), who was on the left rear seat, were dead instantly. Besides, the couple on the motorbike, Mr.Swat Utamul (40) and Mrs. Kemsai Utamul (41), furniture builders, had been badly injured. Sawang Boriboon rescue immediately took all victims to Banglamung hospital.

Mr.Sanchai, the driver, told police that he was driving the car , heading to Sriracha after school day. He was on a speeding gear. Suddenly, a motorbike had come to cut in front of the car, and he could not stop it on time. The car had crashed into the motorbike heavily and caused his brother and a friend dead in his car, also injured many others. Mr. Sanchai said.

As for the injured passenger, Police will contact thier family. An arrest warrant will be issued, and the driver of the car will be prosecuted.
