Yes please I wil be glad to update everything.

ZZinc you might want to check this link it based on your area.

http://www.geocities.com/bkkriders/links.html

Yamaha seems to have a ride going every weekend in the Chain Mai area, yuo can find them in the events section of gtriders.

I have list where I list rides in the Udon area. A friend has one that he does in the Khon Kean area.

I always try to post them on the furom as well.

The Geocities bkkrider website is last updated about 5 years ago, probably the owner forget the login information ... etc ... I know that http://www.motorcycle.in.th/links/index.php is updating daily and it has the ability to submit your own website, or the once you think are important, and death links will automatic be removed...

Your very welcome. Boy thats a tough one. we went on a ride today I psoted it on four forums no one from a forum showed up. Here and in Khon kean we have ride lists the we use to notify eachother about rides. From that and the bike weekends I have met a lot of riders and I don't have a club.

Got an e-mail address on the President on the Nagas, looks like will meet them Lampang for Chaing Mai bike week. that came from them having a nice website, I told them that and introduced myself to them. I've worked on the ride list for about two years now. It became so big that it is split up to another bunch of guys in Khon kean, so the sports bike riders get notices from that list. Tour riders from the list here.

That was my approach it has already began growing just by word of mouth. But I do take the time to do ride reports and such. Guys from different clubs Thai and farrang end up on the rides we take.

But nothing I know of without trying to creat something. In the end to me I don't care what a guy rides or if he rides fast or slow. What matters to me is he enjoys riding and has fun with us.

I'm retired so I have time to do these things We will go to Pethcabun bike week. Before long I will post it on the forums, someone shows good. If not the rigth peopel will be there :o

Most of us are married and our wives ride with us, in today' ride about 20 bikes, four with single riders. One of which was ridden buy one of the guys wives. we enjoyed a very good ride. Ended up in a village where one the Eagle riders treated us to lunch at his in laws house. Wouldn't take a satang for it. None of us farrangs had a clue we getting treated to lunch, We went for the ride. It was just a great day and everyone had fun. But when you post one these rides, people have no idea what they are getting into. Which might be why it's very rare for people to show up. We actually have guys on those list from all over Thailand. I just ask for an e-mail address, so I don't have to write each one individually. Everybody has the list and can post a ride anytime they want to.

It's has taken sometime and effort but it seems to be worrking.

Boy color me stupid just realized you were talking about the forum, this is it as far as I know. There is also section for motoring on Teakwood with activity and of course Gtriders. On Udonmap I just post in the sports and leisure section. That's all I know about.

Does anyone have any more info on any of the events?

Here's what's going on for Chiang Mai Bike Week 2008, 6-7 December. http://www.chiangmaibikeweek.com/ Keep in mind the website is still a work in progress as we lock in our exhibitors, food and refreshment vendors. The venue is NOT at the Imperial Mae Ping but will be west of the city near the airport at the Sirinart Garden Hotel. Admission is free. Food and refreshments will be cash and carry similar to the two food fairs held in CNX every year. International and Thai food will be available. This year we are including escorted rides for everyone's enjoyment ranging from 75km to 120km. Check out the "rides" on our website for map details.

Hi Ray,

Thanks for the reply... I agree with you - simply if someone from any nationality, bike size (cc), man or woman want to ride and enjoy doing it, than good on them :-)

Our MC is the result of some bad apples from other MC's and we have come together to be a positive influence.

We have different chapters (slowly growing in numbers) in Samui, Chumphon and Bangkok and always ready to welcome new people.

I have checked a few of the other sites and will try to email a few to make contact, however the overall meet and greet on rides and bike weekends has always been the most direct and positve way of making new friends / contacats.

I will keep my eyes open for your posts on the upcoming rides and events - and look forward to meeting you.

Here in Samui a few MC's have hosted casual and official events, which have always been a success (BBQ's, island rides, etc.)

I, myself am still working a full time job (Hotelier), but do find the time to escape - out to a few functions. Suratthani was a nice weekend out - off island and looking forward to future events.

CC

Well I'll save up my sstang and try to get to your island someday never been there.

Great place to live , but not really meant (road wise) for motorcycles... lol - we actually only have a few parts of the island nice enough to take a little ride.

Always look forward to going "Off Island"..

Well that really sort of up to you. O go for the ride so suually about 2200 I'm headed off th for the htoel adn some rest. However, the very a bit. Usually haev a price os admission wgcih will normally mean a patch to mark the event. A buffet styled dinner, many times live bands a bit of drinking, in some cases a lot of drinking :o But I have never seen a fight at one.

As a norm there will be local ride planned.

Usually there will specialty vendors there, some times you can find things you don't find in your home town and even at times with good prices :D

Really guys adn ladies who sa hare a common interest getting together for fun.

My suggetion to you would be to go to one close to your home yuo can always turn around. I think it helps to know some of the people there in advance. That would be easy enough the ride list we have here in Udon includes guys from Eagle Riders, Slow Riders,White Devils and the Red Scorpions. Some body form the ride list will at these events. Let me know if yuo see one looks good to you, remind me and I will make sure you have someone to hook up with. Aftre a few you will know a lot of riders.

Hi Ray, we were out fo the usual island ride yesterday with Hideaway riders and someone mentioned something happening in September in Chumporn?

Any truth to this? Good lads - but sometimes after a long day out - subjects tend to get a bit lost in translation..lol

  • 5 weeks later...

Not sure of the venue this year (may be the same as last year), but on 5 December there will be a gathering in Bangkok to celebrate the King's Birthday.

Had a pretty good turn out last year. Bikes of all sizes, type and levels of customization.

Afterwards a large group of us started winding our way up to Lampang and then Chiang Mai for the the annual Bike Week parties there.

Wow!!! Great pics. That looks amazing! Meet up in BKK and then ride to Chiang Mai? Awesome! Do you have any more information about this year's ride? I was planning to go to the Chiang Mai Bike Week and would love to ride up with a bunch of other bikers.

Ride On! :o

I'll be back in LoS in a few days and should be able to find out more. I'll be missing the event this year (though I had planned my holidays with this in mind).

Ah well, got to pay the bills I suppose !
