Two men arrested and 5 fake and real guns seized following raid on house.

Following details received from an Informant, Police Lieutenant Tirapong from Banglamung Police Station conducted a raid of a house inside the Mike Orchid Villas located in the East of Pattaya.

The information stated that firearms were being kept at the location. Police arrived and found two people inside the house, Khun Jalan aged 44 and Khun Somboon aged 43. Two handguns and three shotguns were found inside the house.

Three of the guns were later found to be fake. Both men claimed they were not the owners of the guns which they suggested actually belonged to their nephews, who were predictably out at the time.

Both men were taken to the Police Station and charged with possession of unregistered firearms and it will now be up to a judge to decide if they are telling the truth or not.

This is quite probably true. 6mm plastic pellet rifles/shotguns and pistols are common here and look surprisingly real especially at distance. Surprised that the BIB didn't check them at the house and realise the difference, but then again probably not surprised they couldn't tell them apart. There are a couple of 6mm ranges in Pattaya and popular with locals and visitors.
