Ah, Sonny is trapped down a well with a broken leg. Never mind the melting ice-caps, sometimes I'm surprised that we have managed to last this long. Garry Pankhurst who played "Sonny Hammond" the human star of the show has a company that exports kangaroo products ie skins, meat etc all over the world. He was involved in the deal with Addidas to make football boots made of kangaroo skins Tck tck tck tck tck Wat's that skip there are illegal roo shooters in the park tck tck tck And they said kangaroo is going for 4 bucks a kilo dressed and butted jeez skip - out of interest how much do you weigh bang bang

September 2, 200817 yr Skippy is not dead yet. Tony Bonner wants a cut of Skippy's profits August 16, 2008 AFTER 40 years it appears there's one last adventure left for Skippy, Australia's iconic television kangaroo - Skippy Goes to Court. Actor Tony Bonner, the heart-throb star of the show that debuted in the late '60s and sold into more than 128 countries worldwide - and is still running in foreign territories like Hong Kong - has lodged a statement of claim with the NSW Supreme Court seeking declarations that he's entitled to a share of four decades worth of profits from the show, merchandising and associated film and music spin-offs. Made by Fauna Productions Pty Ltd, Skippy the Bush Kangaroo, which ran for three seasons between 1968 and 1970, has entered Australian entertainment folklore and the marsupial is arguably the country's greatest and most enduring showbiz export. Sydney lawyer Rick Mitry, representing Bonner, said the claim was conceivably "worth millions". "I believe he's entitled to be compensated for his role in the show," Mr Mitry said yesterday. Bonner, 64, said he had no malice towards the show's producers, but wanted to at least be recognised for his work and his contribution to the series' successful longevity. Bonner played the dashing helicopter pilot, Flight Ranger Jerry King, in only the first series of the show, and starred alongside the late Ed Devereaux, Ken James and the ubiquitous Garry Pankhurst as Sonny Hammond. Bonner has never received any residual payments for his part in the series, despite its phenomenal worldwide success.

Edit - sorry about the formatting - it was all OK on the preview

September 15, 200817 yr New Zealand have won a breathless Test against Australia in Brisbane, claiming the Tri-Nations title and the Bledisloe Cup with a 28-24 victory.bugger sigh CB The annoying thing was - I was watching this on Australia Network - saw the Wallabies go ahead just before half-time, saw the Kiwis come back just after half-time, then Aus Network went off air in Vietnam. So I had to wait until this morning to find out the result. But I watched the NFL match between Manly and the Kiwis and - provided you tuned out the commentator - who is more jingoistic than some of the English idiots - it was a good match. Only the rules and the ref detracted from the overall game.
