MOTORBIKE TEEN GANG CONTINUOUSLY SHOOTING

On August 31st, 2008, at 01.20, Pol.Lt.Col. Apimuk Am-nart-mankong, Pattaya Dongtan investigator, was notified by Banglamung hospital that there were 2 injuries, had sustained gunshots and admitted at the hospital. Pol.Lt.Col. Chartchai Ruenthawin, deputy superintendent and First lieutenant police officer Santipol Puwilkanok, led the team to investigate.

Mr. Sommai Thien-noi or nickname "King" (29), from Nonthaburi province had sustained a severe gunshot on his chest and another shot on his right shoulder, and another victim, Mr. Suthiphong Glom-mueng or nickname "Pug", (16), a first year student from Banglamung Vocational College, was shot on his left hip.

To answer the police questions, Mr. Sommai Thien-noi said, they were members of Pattaya motorbike gang, wondering around together more than 20 people, on , 15 motorbikes, heading from Soi Khao-Noi to Sukhumvit road. After stopping at PTT petrol station on Theprasit road to refill thier tank, then heading to Jomtien beach by riding in a group spread over Sukhumvit road.

Arriving in front of Thai Namthip Company, there was another group of teen gang of about 10 motorbikes, was following and taking over them. One of those teen gang pulled out a gun and randomly shot on them about 4-5 gunshots to cause the injury. They had tried to escape but the enemy followed them and fired more gunshots then sped away, heading to Huey-yai.

Mr. Sommai’s friends had taken the injuries to the hospital. They victims said, they could not indentify of those enemy group. Police found only the evidence of 2 bullet cases of .9mm gun, falling on the road.

On the same night - at 01.40, another group of motorbike teen gang had taken Mr. Sarawut Yimyai (15), who had sustained a severe shot on his head to the same hospital. Doctors examined the injury and found he was on a coma stage; therefore, they transferred him to Chonburi hospital for an immediately surgery.

Mr.Nathawut Somphong (16), from Chonburi, a friend who took the injury to the hospital, told police that, he and other friends on 5 motorbikes, were outing for a ride along Sukhumvit road and were about to go back home near Baan Sukhawadee.

Arriving in front of Pattaya Mueng 2 School [ about 600 meters away from Banglamung police station] a group of 20 teens on 10 motorbikes had followed them and fired gunshots to cause a serious injury to a friend on his pillion seat, then ridden away to Krathing Lai bridge, inbound to Chonburi.

Police presumed that they were the motorbike teen gang with guns, who went around causing problem. They were wildly shooting to anybody in a group on motorbikes for no reason. Very often, they could escape after causing problem. Police would rush to investigate to find the group and arrest them soon.

6 Teenagers arrested following weekend random shooting spree.

On Monday Afternoon at Pattaya Police Station, Police Colonel Nopadon, the Chief of Pattaya Police held a press conference to announce the arrest of suspected gang members involved in an apparent random shooting spree over the weekend.

As we reported on Monday, three were injured by a gang of 10 young men who appeared to be targeting other groups of motorbike riders.

The Press Conference presented 6 young men aged between 15 and 17 who were arrested with four guns following further investigations into the shootings. The young men are known repeat offenders and have been involved in firearm related cases at Pattaya and Banglamung Police Stations.

The young men are now facing serious firearm charges once again and will remain behind bars until a court appearance early next week.

Well, if you just stay in your house, on the dark side, and never go out except for a short drive in your SUV, then all is glorious in Pattaya.....according to all of the expert real estate agents and other veterans on this TV site.
