Between the ages of 14 and 21 I intentionally broke the law many times. Given the opportunity I'd have broken it many more times than I did. If the situation were the same today I'd do exactly the same again. Some laws are simply so discriminatory that they shouldn't be on the books.

When I was 14 I had a Saturday job in 'Jacksons the Tailors'. One of the full time guys was a 52 year old gay guy. He lived with his boyfriend of 15 years. One of his neighbours took a dislike to him and reported him to the police. He got sent down for 3 months for having a boyfriend. Now THAT'S shocking - and not funny. Thank the Lord for John Wolfenden - the saviour of our times.
