Where Do They Turn To?

I related the sad plight of the young lady I met late at night a few weeks ago. It was under the original post of 'Where can I find' in Chiang Mai forum.

The story I related disturbed me because I couldn't advise her where or to whom she could turn. With two young daughters and a baby, and penniless in Chiang Mai is there an agency that could assist such a family? I know there isn't much of a welfare system but surely there must be something?

Any ideas? What would you have done? :o

There are organisations who try to help these kind of women and/or small families. One I know of is Wild Flower Home: http://www.wildflowerhome.net/index.php

Have you already looked at the pinned subject? There is a list of women organisations: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/List-Women-s...ns-t184985.html.

She was already involved in the night entertainment business, so it might have been worth sending her to "Empower". They teach the girls job related languages, how to make the job easier as far as dealing with clients and street skills. They also tell them where to go for help from other agencies.

They have their own bar over at Chiang Mai Land.
