Hi Tywais,

Thank you for your very good work. :D

This year's 2008 was put together very quickly, hence this post for the Thai Visa Calender 2009.

As this is a sub-forum of Thai Visa “Photography and the Arts” perhaps folks could post their own photos to be included in 2009 calendar.

The Categories should be by month related to the Thai culture & festivals, rain or sunshine.

We have three months to go, so I ask you all, show us your “best from the rest” from January to December photos which ever year you took then to be included in next year’s calendar 2009.

Yours truly,

Kan Win :D

P.S. Tywais O.K. by you :o

Excellent idea Kan Win! :D Every year it takes me a lot of time to find good photos that are covered under fair use (public domain) laws and a lot of effort to check and cross check regarding copyright infringement. If it is questionable I contact the photographer to obtain permission. Last year I used some members photos including Kan Win's and it was greatly appreciated. :D

It usually takes me 3-4 weeks to assemble everything and produce the calendar. I try to use "themed" photos that represent the month they are in such as the main holiday of the month or the season if no holidays. Maybe a "swimsuit" issue this time. <just kidding> :D

Thanks Kan Win for starting this topic.

Hi Tywais,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

So what do you and other members think is the next step to take towards “The Best from the Rest” 2009 calendar ? :D

Yours truly, :D

P.S. Maybe a "swimsuit" issue this time. In forum47 would be better me tink :o

First I've heard of a TV calendar!

Q. What format and size is it (relevant to photo submission)

Q. Is it free or bought and if the latter, where from and what price

Q. What's the distribution

Q. sRGB, RGB or CMYK submissions

Guess you didn't get the memo. :o

The calendar is in the download section distributed as a pdf file. .jpg format is my choice due to file size. Prefer any uploads to be printable resolution A4 width 300dpi, so around 2400x1800 pixels or greater would work well. And it is a free download and compliments of Thaivisa. Any formats are fine, I have the tools to convert any of them including raw.

I also have watermarked the members photos with their member name in acknowledgment.

If you want to do a calandar, watch out the few pix I put online from my trip to Thailand, it's not in public domain but under Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 License. This mean you can use it and modify it as long as the end product is also distributed under the same License :o

In few words, you can use it for your calendar without problem as long as the calendar is distributed freely :D

There is a lot of pix that cannot be used for a calandar; as it's mixed with some "holiday" pix, but anyway...

Ho and, there is like 10 times this amount of pix to come, I just need to work on them...

One thinks that Thaivisa.com has more than enough members photos to produce a very good calandar of our own without the above as highlighted.

Thanking you, but..............................no thanks :D
