Police Fire Tear Gas At Protesters In Front Of Parliament

....edit....

the claim from the police that she carried a bomb is a stupid lie.

As sad as it is... my condolences to the family and friend!

Is like the war on drugs...

"How did this innocent man got shot?"

:"Well you know he walked into the bullet which discharged itself accidentally, it was an honest mistake!"

this fact makes it all even more sad!

If they don't have some narcotic on hand to put in his pocket.....

Or if they can't blame it on a stranger who escaped......

The one zillion pathetic lies of the police.....usual so pathetic that a 5 year old would not believe it.

(the lost foot was caused by a bomb in the pocket is one of the most silly lies I ever heard)

To say it suggests misrepresentation by all doctors at all hospitals as well as the central coordinating center on injury reporting is a bit stretched.

Calling all members of the PPP party "corrupt" is a bit stretched as well.

I wasn't aware that I had posted that. Could you please me help out by pointing out where I did?

I don't have the time nor the willing to go trough about 1200 posts to find the relevant post.

If eliminating the "quotes" went wrong and you didn't post the relevant quotation, my excuses for it.

TV said PAD kidnapped a police officer and tormented him for 18 hours?

Huh...?

PAD kidnapping a police officer and tormenting him for 18 hours?

Another criminal offense added to the PAD actions.

If the PAD continue like this, the will be condemned to 300 years in prison each.

PS: remember that at this moment it is not determined if the police used lethal weapons or a third party is stirring the soup (most likely).

Why smile? It has been determined that they did in fact have and pointed lethal weapons. See above post. As far as kidnapping and torture, please provide a link.

Apparently you can neither read OR INTERPRET pictures.

Police uniforms are widely available at any shop in Thailand and used in many TV shows.

Paying a handful of "fake police" to stirr the soup is as easy as peanuts and the photographs would show a policeman. Fake or real.

Lost of people in and outside Thailand would benefit from stirring the soup.

Inclusive the PAD.

nah .... instead you live in a dream world!

Really it was the FAKE police with the standard riot guns .. the CS launchers the radios ... the FAKE police! :o

Coalminer, your posts are clearly attempting to obfuscate and hide anything that could show the slight 'bad' actions of the government or the police.

You quote a rumor and take it as truth.

You see pictures of civilian men (could be morons or under cover officers) and you scream PAD.

You see pictures of police officers firing weapons and you shout 'civilians that buy uniforms'.

Doesn't it make the debate rather silly?

Supply evidence of foul play or shut up.

Maybe all the policemen with the tear gas were in fact aliens from Mars dressed in police clothes they have stolen from TV shows.

I didn't know that Police uniforms are available at any shop in Thailand.

my guys here told they missed it because they spoke to each other, but they think something important happend....

Anyone know?

That was it from the nation:

Administrative Court issues junction on crowd control measures

The Central Administrative Court Thursday issued an injunction demanding the prime minister to strictly observe the international standards on crowd control when dealing with the protesters.

The court issued the injunction in the case in which some senators filed a suit against Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat and police, accusing them of using excessive force to disperse protesters on Tuesday.

The court said the injunction would be in place until the court makes a ruling in the case.

Sadly, this won't be going away anytime soon. With DADD making a presence and not wanting the government to admit mistake or for the police to stop using lethal weapons, more trouble might be on the horizon.

Academics in black condemn police actions

(BangkokPost.com) - Hundreds of doctors, lecturers, staff and students of Chulalongkorn University, all dressed in black, gathered in front of a shopping centre in Bangkok on Thursday to condemn what the called government violence in dispersing protesters on Tuesday.

They called on police to stop using lethal weapons against innocent people, and urged the government, who ordered police to disperse the crowd, to take responsibility for the attack.

While they were gathering there, a few hundreds of United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship, which is a pro-government group, shouted loudly on from the other side of the street to disagree with the people in black.

Regarding weapons... and the Police rendering that they only fired tear-gas....

well, they did that...

firing it on a horizontal level...

but they also had shotguns...

as linked before...

and handguns...

Having watched the video on Matichon, not a single shot was fired on the video with the policeman's head is highlighted in the red circle.

Well, he didn't, so thankfully no one got a slug in the head from this particular policemans' handgun. The proof is so difficult to find that people are printing pictures here and there.

There are guilty parties on both sides, and this is a desperately awful situation, but adding context if true, is I believe useful.

Thai at Heart ... 1) you can't say that as you cannot tell who is firing in most of the vdo 2) the brief segment showing that particular officer is interrupted by his buddy in the gas-mask telling him that he is being filmed

There is absolutely no proof from the video that a shot was fired. It is a video taken, stills removed, and a circle added. The policeman is already in a crouch with the cameraman 10 ft away. It is worrying, but proves nothing.

Taken as a still it says one thing, in the context of a video it is completely different. We have seen stills taken, people wonder if amputees blew themselves up, stage managed injuries for the cameras benefit (ludicrous but who the hel_l knows). Likewise, in the same collection of photos on Matichon, there is a still of a PAD supporter looking over the wall with a gun in hand which has been rubbished as an orangutan holding a banana.

I do believe it is possible that idiot Police fired teargas incorrectly. I do also believe that PAD had homemade devices for defence. Bad things happened perpetrated by both sides. There are riot police and a large protesting group in close proximity. The protesting group has had weeks to prepare for this eventuality and people and forces alike do very stupid things

It is also possible that a rogue third party added to the events yesterday as was postulated on the forum.

There was violence coming from both sides, and I'm sure there were no orders to use handuns or shoot people, but, as usual, there's also little control over what happens on the ground. Now both the police and PAD will stand by their own, no one would give up their comrades who "broke the rules", be it firing into the crowd, throwing ping pong bombs or driving pickup trucks over police bodies.

PAD sincerely believes that their ranks were infiltrated by plainclothes police, while claims that PAD impersonated police officers is plain ridiculous. Ultimately the buck stops with those who started this senseless violence - and that is the police, they didn't give any warnings and they didn't try to negotiate.

Blank denials on the part of police commanders is not credible at all, and neither are their claims that portesters blew off their legs themselves or cut them off on barb wire. The more they try to talk themselves out of it, the less credible they sound.

There is absolutely no proof from the video that a shot was fired.(agree ---- and no reason at all to say he did NOT fire .. after all what brought the attention of the cameraman to this guy, that the photographer came running AND stayed on the guy after he holstered his weapon and left .. not stopping until waved off by the other policeman) It is a video taken, stills removed, and a circle added. ??????????

What you CAN accurately say is "In this vdo, both of the officer singularly AND of the mass of officers, you cannot identify him as doing anything other than aiming a weapon that the government claims was not present"

Well saying it sincerely doesn't take bullets away and repair broken and damaged limbs. There is an enormous amount of disinformation coming from all sides. There were literally hundreds of cameras from dozens of news organisations around this event and nothing conclusively shows anything. It is probably the most filmed riot in history.

I would believe that a nut job policeman (knowing their proclivaty for mindless individual violence)did it for sadistic purposes or that one group incompetently (knowing the BIB extremely possible) took the wrong ammo more than it was an orchestrated attempt at mutilation. If it was orchestrated, there would have been many more injuries. I also wouldn't doubt that after 5 weeks of waiting for this to happen that some of the PAD couldn't have made some home made devices that possible went terribly wrong.

All options are open and we will never know the answer.

TNN late last night (1.00 am) after a shower of bottles and other bits and bobs clearly identified home made devices in bushes along the side of the road about 5ms from the police lines. Take my word for it or not, and no I can't find a video.

"Improvised explosive devices found and we can show they belonged to one particular group!" uh huh!
