PAD Leader Sondhi Claims Rogue Military Office Puts Monarchy in Danger

UPDATE : 7 October 2008 spacer.gif

Sondhi Limthongkul, a key PAD leader, claims that an ambitious military police officer who is no longer loyal to the throne.

Sondhi started his nightly PAD address by lashing out at the police who have violently attacked the PAD protesters by tear gas grenades.

Sondhi alleges that in return for promises of financial compensation and political rewards, the military police officer refused to stand by the people. The PAD leader reminded the PAD protesters that the monarchy rests on 2 main foundations; the people of Thailand and the armed forces. He states that today the monarchy only have the support of the people but not the armed forces.

He calls for the PAD protesters to stand by the monarchy and continue to fight to protect the nation's interest.

If Sonthi actually said that, he might chipping away at his own support base?

Sleep deprived, with possible pharmaceutical interference, Sondhi's imagination has gone from dangerously odd to plain nuts!

I don't see any changes over the last few years. Who can forget his annoucement in the Manager media that Thaksin had an arrangement to sell Phuket to Singapore. The guy really believes that any idea, no matter how bizarre and imaginary , that pops into his head, is the truth. All demagogues have the ability to fervently believe what they say, it is how they get there sheepish followers inflamed.

Anyway the scheme behind this latest rant is that the miliatry will feel so ashamed of their supposed lack of patriotism that they will soon join in, just like in 2006, and topple the government. Sondhi and Chamlong will then be back in their rightful place as heroes of the revolution, leaders of the brave new world.

Someone's trying to grab hold of a tiger's tail. :o

He's predictible though. When things go badly, try and drag in the monarchy, wrap yourself in the flag and claim all those that oppose you are anti thailand.

Been there, seen that already. Needs some new plays methinks.

Amen to that. Its time to drop the phoney nationalism and lese majeste catch-all.

i don't underestimate that these guys could be running around on all sorts of enhancements

I was glad to hear Sondhi accuse the military. I was always taught that if you spit in the tiger's eye that you better have a plan to deal with the tiger's teeth. I doubt that he has any plan. He's a dangerous deluded man who is going to cause more pain and suffering before someone deals with him.

Sonthi just placed another nail into his own coffin. He has no greater enemy than himself. :o

Somehow I doubt its quite that simple as to be Sondhi vs military.
