Ford Focus Vs. Toyota Corolla Vs. Honda Civic?

Featured Replies

We're going to go ahead and make a car purchase before the end of the year and these are the models we are looking at.

Both the Ford and the Honda come in a 2.0 ltr version and the Altis is a 1.8 ltr engine.

Any thoughts, personal experiences or reviews to share?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dr B

No contest, the Civic 2 litre is better built and handles/performs much better IMHO, not to say the other 2 are not good cars.

GO TEST DRIVE, you know it makes sense.

I suggest you rent each car from some company and testdrive it for at least a week. That's the best way to find out which one suits you best.

I had bought a Civic about eight years ago and sold it immediately after about 100 kms, because I just hated the car. Uphill no power, and we got a lot of hills on Phuket. It was a 1.6 litre VTEC, manual gear. On the other hand, this is quite a while ago and things may have improved.

I'd buy the Ford Focus if I could get the turbo diesel engine.

What about Mazda, the Mazda 3 uses much the same parts as the Ford Focus (Ford and Mazda sleep in the same bed)

For as long as it last ... Ford and Mazda Relation
