I'm wondering if there are any problems bringing my Thai car to Laos for 31 days. I though someone mentioned on another thread, that they only allow you to bring it into Laos for 2 weeks, and I wanted to confirm that you can in fact bring it in for the whole duration of your stay. I believe I'll only get a 30 day stamp, but was planning on extending my visa by an extra day or two. Can I also extend the vehicles say an extra day or two? Is there any special procedure? Thanks

Also, I was planning to drive to the Plain of Jars & Lam Prabang, are the roads OK for a 4 door 2 wheel drive sedan? during December? Thanks.

has anyone been successful at getting a car passport stamped into Laos for longer than the 7 days they seemed to have given by default? How much were the temporary import customs fees for Laos? They charged me 280 baht, and only gave me 7 days.
