Do you want to keep all the sweat in your shoes? Rot your feet? Not allow them to breathe while exercising?

Seems a very bad idea to me, although my old rugby boots were fairly waterproof, and so are my safety boots. But both worn with a double thickness of socks.

not sure who is making sneakers with the gortex brand, but you might try that sports store in the Outlet Mall on Suk/Tepp. they do carry all the Nort Face gortex stuff and they do carry a very large variety of North Face sneakers/shoes. give it a shot, but report back to us.
