Vaccinations

Featured Replies

On a recent trip to Australia i had my yearly check-up. including the normal set of blood tests. unfortunatley, my previous immunization for hep A was only marginal. my doctor suggested getting the hep A and B Twinrex shots. (3 needles over 6 months) as well as a typhoid shot. Question: are these vaccinations available in Thailand and if so, where and approx cost? I reside in Buriram. Any info: appreciated.

Some people believe prayers can heal everything including cancer.

Yes the dual shot is easily found throughout Thailand. If you have already had the A vacine then chances are you will only need a booster, so one dual vacine (good for a further 10 years) and two additional B shots (After one month and six months) and then you will be good for 10 years for both Hep A & B.

I'm not sure of the cost but it is relatively cheap and certainly worth getting.

Don't worry too much about the article above. If I had a child in continental America I don't think I would bother getting her vacinated either, but here in Thailand the risks, especially for Hep A are considerably higher for both children and Adults.

You may have to wait 30 minutes to get the vacine as it can be a bit painful if given straight from the fridge.
