I went to the airport today to pick up some clients and noticed on arrivals that flights were coming in from Oslo, Munich and Zurich...Direct.

How come there are none from the Uk. I know there used to be so whats happened???????

Several times I've seen Thomson Fly at Phuket airport with flights going direct to Manchester I beleive.

Monarch Airlines operate charter flights from London Heathrow (also from Birmingham) direct to Phuket. This route is operated by Monarch Holidays but the company will accept flight bookings only.

None of the Uk flights to Phuket are "direct". They ALL make a technical stop to refuel in the Gulf. Many travel agents neglect to tell their customers this.
