My current ride is in the GF's name, was easier when I bought it than getting my residence paper.. I hear the northern borders are much tighter than the Malaysian one and if riding out with a bike owned by someone else you need a letter from them (and presumably signed ID card copies etc).

Can I just write the 'I give permmission to' letter ?? Does it require anything special worded other than the obvious (person name, address, ID card, bike details) ?? Any pittfalls or pratfalls ??

Also while this is a fair way off and may not happen at all.. Is there any added problems crossing from Laos to Cambo (south of Champasak and Khong Island region ??) on a bike I dont own ?? I could get to the DMV and have a book in my name if totally required.

Already had a read of that page.. The letter I want tho is part of a for sale document package..

Leaving down south is so simple they are almost open.. A mate drove down only a week or two ago and left and returned to Malaysia without even showing his green book. No temp export forms or anything.. Just passport stamped and through.
