You're losing your time.

The PAD supporters will deny the truth even if put in front of their eyes.

Ignorance is bliss for them.

Well Danton, why dont you tell us what the truth is than, will you?

Lets see how knowledgeable you are instead of calling people ignorant.

Be a man and give us your opinion!

This is a hoax, Can you give us the source of it. The EU did not give any statements like this.

French embassy website genuine enough?

http://www.ambafrance-th.org/spip.php?article1542

It wasn't the EU per se. Rather it was from EU delegates.

It was from the EU's Delegation to Thailand: "Delegation of the European Commission to Thailand has issued a press release:"

The only place I can find the quoted statement is on the French Embassy's site (Ambassade de France en Thaïlande)

On another site was this: "The European Union Ambassadors in Bangkok" regarding a statement issued on 26 Nov, referencing the deteriorating situation, but nothing about the airport.

Air Force chief repeats call for Govt to dissolve House

Air Force Commander-in-Chief ACM Itthaporn Supawong Sunday repeated the military's call for Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat to dissolve the House.

He said the call was agreed upon during a meeting of the situation monitoring committee and agreed by heads of government agencies, academics and representatives of the private sector.

The Air Force chief said the government had nothing to fear because it could win the next election again.

The Nation

First the Army, now the Air Force. If only Somchai would listen since his days are very limited as it is. True enough, they could win another election providing they are not banned, jailed, or buying votes.

Why refer us to issues affecting Airlines. The Closure of both the Bangkok Airports was a Political issue where a non-legitimate Political Party, took over the Airports for Political reasons.

I believe the Strike Action you refer to was called off........! :o

It's funny how when you ask for facts or sources some people just seem to slink away for a while. :o
Condo-bk...

regarding the 'creative thinking' comment do you have any facts to call upon that show corruption was higher under Thaksin? Don't get me wrong, I can't stand the guy, but so far we've just got that corruption index and that goes contrary to what you're saying. Obviously if you've nothing concrete to call upon your comment holds no weight whatsoever.

Do you really asking for corruption statistics?

"we've just got that corruption index" - come on, be real. How many PMs were convicted on corruption charges?

I see. So you've nothing then.

As you were.

Even if you got a reply, you remained disgruntled. So, why one should care to reply to you? (a rhetorical question)

"Two MPs from Lop Buri, Suchart Lainamngern and Amnuay Klangpha, predicted that more than 100,000 redshirt crowds would turn out to rally by Tuesday in order to counter the PADl ed protests.

Somchai remains uncertain whether he can attend ceremonies ..............

He insisted that the government refused to step down either by resigning or by House dissolution because this would tantamount to allowing the victory to the PAD"

source: The Nation

i hope this is all over by tuesday.... looks like tuesday is going to be a very bad day if it isnt...

I closed my bedroom door tonight to go downstairs and have a few beers out front of the house and inexplicably came back to find I couldn't get back in again. Things just keeps getting worse! I've been swearing mildly for the last 20 minutes but I intend to step up to severe profanity if the situation doesn't change by 9pm.

If only I were joking. :D

Someday they will have nuclear power stations here. What will happen when you have protesters running around opening and closing valves willy nilly. :o:D:D

refering to my previous post go to www.Telergraph.co.uk look under Travel, 'In pictures 20 of the world's most dangerous places'. Picture No.7 is Thailand for those doubters amongst you................... :o

I couldn't find this but did find a gallery with some good pictures - The Nation and Bangkok Post don't seem to have many.

ttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/picturegalleries/worldnews/3520796/Anti-government-protesters-storm-Bangkok-international-airport.html

By the way, I'm pretty close to DM airport and am pretty sure just heard two small explosions about 15-20 minutes ago. Not as loud as the one that woke me at 3.55 this morning though.

From Nation Multimedia, Sunday November 30th:

"In Chiang Mai, several pickup trucks filled with progovernment crowds were driven to a number of crowded public places rousing the people to take the law into their hands and attack the yellowshirt protesters and their supporters."

Do we really need to say more?

I was against a coup but with the latest developments I think it has to happen. Otherwise it's gonna be a bloodshed. But the PAD leaders should be sent to jail as well as people involved in vote buying and corruption from the PPP (or Thai Rak Thai). Those two "movements" have gone too extreme. And what about writing a real constitution this time (for the first time actually...)??? People have been so much brainwashed that western type of democracy wouldn't work, but were any of the thai governments of the last decades efficient and working for the good of thai people? Maybe it's time for a change, maybe it's time for a new generation of politician to stand up. I guess I'm too optimistic, but I think what's happening now is just the first step of a much bigger revolution that could happen in a few years and if you let things go like this without acting it might be a real civil war next...

Hey PAD and Thailand...here are the 2 problems that you are not seeing clearly.

The number 2 problem with taking over the International airport and OUTGOING flights is that 100,000 people are totally screwed by your selfish actions. In your small eyes this seems like a small problem.

Hey PAD the number 1 problem you will face is that from this day and forever... 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 people will never make

INCOMING flights to Thailand...AND you will have nothing to govern.

Cambodia, Laos, Mianmar and your insurgents to the south now all see how vulnerable your armed forces are.

You have screwed the pooch. This will come to haunt you for years to come in the eyes of the world. You just destroyed all that your older brothers have worked so hard to achieve. Does the term FOURTH WORLD sound like a good title?...Because you have sunken way below Third world status.

The Nation at least is trying to put a positive spin on the situation ...

"Meanwhile, The Telegraph newspaper website, (address removed), has named Thailand as one of the world's most generous countries, alongside Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, South Africa, Jamaica, Sudan, Colombia, Haiti, Eritrea, Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Pakistan, Burundi, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, India, Mexico, Isarel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and Lebanon."

That should remove any trepidation among prospective visitors to Thailand!!

Thanx Robbo, the only reason I highlight this is that the Travel Industry in the UK is dire, the £ is 27% down on the baht, the air fares were cheap, but not now, the accomodation and prices in Thailand are now expensive for Tourists.

So, with Thailand in such a Political frenzy, with apparent lack of Police involvement, or indeed the Military to protect the Democratically elected Government, views on such Anarchy is bound to be reflected in such loss of Tourism .

100,000 tourists are stranded in Thailand at the moment, with a similar amount unable to get there for their vacation. I love Thailand and wish it a speedy Politically sane recovery, (that should get a response..!!); however, in the 'World Credit Crunch' it wasn't the best time to shoot itself in the foot............... :o

COURT RULING LOOMS

Veera Musikapong, a DAAD leader, told the Nation newspaper one focus of the rally would be the alleged bias of the courts.

The Constitutional Court has moved with uncharacteristic speed to conclude a vote fraud case on Tuesday, widely expected to lead to the disbanding of Somchai's People Power Party (PPP) and two other partners in the ruling coalition.

"It is obvious that there is interference with justice. It was well planned, and this is a concealed coup," Veera said.

If the court dissolves the three parties, Somchai and other leaders would be barred from politics and many cabinet ministers would have to step down.

The chaos caused by the airport sit-ins has sparked rumors of a military coup, even though the army chief has said he will not seize control.

The political chaos has worried Thailand's neighbors, who are due to meet there next month for a regional summit. Surin Pitsuwan, head of Southeast Asia's 10-nation grouping, ASEAN, said on Sunday a postponment may be wise.

Somchai, who refuses to quit and embarked on a rural roadshow on Sunday to drum up support for his government, was expected to make a final decision on the summit on Tuesday.
