Protestors Moving From Government House To Suvarnabhumi

Featured Replies

The BBC is stating that protesters are moving from Government House to the airport for safety reasons and as advised by their leaders.

Can someone please tell me how people are allowed to reinforce those occupying the airport ? Why are they not prevented from getting there ? Just how stupid are the authorities to allow this ?

The damage to Thailand is irreparable. People from civilised countries will just not put up with this stupidity and certainly will not risk having their lives damaged in this way just for a few days on a Thai beach. Plenty more countries to visit.

The "authorities" are complicit. The govt want to stop it, but the army support the PAD, as do the elite and the police are just too crap.

It's a better place to sit. So many Thais lead a boring life. Something like this is fun for many, regardless of the consequences.

The airport is a nice place. Indoors, out of the sun, air conditioned around the clock, decent food, running water, OK toilets. Bands playing. I am sure the Thai massage and foot massage people are in there setting up shop in some of the chairs.

Its probably better to have all the yellows in one place. If they stayed in town, better chance of a violent clash between the reds and the yellows.

There are no longer any 'authorities' as we know it in control. The PAD is currently the group with the biggest grip on power. The army won't touch them. The police are too afraid to touch them for fear of further criticism after what happened in October. The 'red army' don't presently have the necessary means or confidence to launch a substantial attack on the 'yellow army'. Stalemate. It's gonna run and run and run.

It could last a while. I feel sorry for the hard working Thai people that are trying to make the best of things like at the madhouse of U Tapao. Tempers will flare. Crowds will grow. It is so inefficient a way to do things. Many people are in Pattaya and have to make it up to BKK then bus it back to U Tapao! Nuts!

240,000 tourists stuck here now?

Spot on really.
