Hey! Any Ex-pats Around Sakon Nakohn Area?

Featured Replies

I'm about to move to a village about 20 klm from Sakon Nakhon, direction Udon. Would love to hear from any ex-pats or English-speaking folk in the area. Also happy to receive tips and ideas about the area. Thanks

Hello Jess, I'm from the UK and living about 20Km south of Sakon Nakhon. I've lived up here over 2 years now although I work a 28/28 rotation in Malaysia.

Not too much goes on up hear as its a more relaxed style of living than say Bangkok or Pattaya. Winter can get a bit chilly at night so bring afew bits of warm clothing.

Has the usual Tesco's, Big C, etc etc.and the roads aren't too bad with the Traffic being light.

People here are a more Friendly bunch as you'll find out.

There's a small Golf course [Military] and a couple of good driving ranges.

Nakon Phamon is about 80Kms away and worth a look

Udon Thani is about 160Kms in the other direction. [Good for shopping]

Said it all really. Only thing to add is that Thalae is where to buy gourmet dog. I live 40km East of Sakon Nakhon, find yourself a hobby.
