On Tuesday Afternoon, Police Lieutenant Choosak from Banglamung Police Station was called to house number 158/55 at the Chatgeow Village in Soi Kow Noi to investigate reports of a foreign fatality at the location.

At the scene, the officer was directed to the 1st floor bedroom to inspect the body of Mr. Cedric Nyffeler aged 36 from Switzerland. He was lying on the floor next to his bed and it appeared that he had been dead for about 1 week according to a forensic doctor at the scene.

Although the house showed clear signs of a disturbance no visible injuries were evident on the body.

Neighbors explained that Mr. Nyffeler had rented the house, but would often go out and not return for a couple of days. He was known to have taken many women back to the house on a regular basis.

Forensic evidence was gathered by Police at the scene and the body has been sent for a post mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death which, for now, remains a mystery.

I would not condemn anyone's chosen lifestyle...only that one has to keep one's wits about them and keep everything in perspective. As any experienced Thai-hand knows, the first few months to year or so are the most dangerous time for anyone living in LOS. The wine, women, and song can quickly overwhelm one's senses and lead them down many a dark and dangerous alley.

It can be easy to do oneself in or be done in by someone else...this is the likely explanation of many of the mysterious fereng deaths that occur in the Kingdom on a regular basis.

Half the problem cali is that the press, worldwide not just Thailand and national as much as local, almost never follow up on a story unless it's real high profile like those two Russian girls. So sadly we'll never know any more of the facts of the case.

Yes, the combination of Viagra and such together with drugs or medicine as well as alcohol and the heat can have a lot of side effects if one is unlucky, but at the same time there seems to be at least a couple of criminal groups who are specialising on drugging punters with spiked drinks/fruit/candy and such. The problem is that they seldom know how much of the spike drugs to use and if they are unlucky they could easily end up killing one of their victims!

Right. A couple of years ago a foreigner was murdered in my condo building and it somehow appeared in the newspaper that he regularly brought back men, women and lady boys to his room. This might or might not have been true, but in any case the unfortunate victim was not here to defend himself from this unlikely accusation, which seemed to have the sole purpose of discrediting his character. It made me wonder what might be written about me should I meet with an unnatural demise. With the internet, things printed in the newspaper about us, even if they are not true, become a part of our permanent legacy.
