AntR1,

How many miles have you got on those boys now?

The 2009 Yamaha R1 has definately made some interesting changes.....no thought of updating have you?

I think they are going for around the 700k THB mark?

I couldnt seem to find a price anywhere for the Kwaka. :o

hey neverdie,

my R1 has 14,000KM on it. I don't know what the kwak has as it belongs to travelmate :-)

ya, the new R1 is pretty out there. yami has taken a lot from the motogp version M1 it seems. i'm extremely happy with my '04 and don't plan to upgrade, beside 700 - 800k is pretty rich considering i wouldn't appreciate the changes unless it was a track bike...i think :-)

they have added a new 'drive mode" which is like built in mapping so you can select riding styles, that would be a nice function and i THINK they've finally added a slipper clutch on the '08 or '09, 1 area where yami has been a few years behind the rest.

i don't think the kwak dealer is selling the ZX10R new in thailand??? there were a few about last time i looked and i think they were just under 800k as well.

AntR1,

I Dunno about the R1 2009 because I obviously havent ridden one....but from all reports the way in which the new donk fires can only help in getting the power to the ground, bit smoother perhaps & yes a slipperclutch - foolproof!

Travelmate,

Thats a nice looking 10, you've been playing with the brakes, or did you buy it that way?

Crobiker,

Years ago a mate of mine had a ZZR1100, he had played with it a little bit, nothing major & one day I took it for a spin (at the time my ride was a ZX6R) and I opened her up on the highway & I can only describe her as the MASTERBLASTER!

I believe those ZZR1400's are some improvement :o:D

You blokes are really starting to give me the a good ole case of the s#its with all the awesome bikes & now I have to toddle outside and change the spark plug on my 150, then open her massive 2hp engine & get excited!

:D:D:wai::D

Yeah ZZR1100 is awesome bike, had 2 of those back in 90's. You can say 14 is second upgrade after ZZR 1200

Yes Crobiker, I remember it when 1200 after the 1100, I just never had the pleasure!

The ZZR1400 is a much nicer looking machine than that aweful looking Hayabusa.

Ur right Ant...just what the R1 needs, more rear wheel HP & a bit of weight reduction.... :o

Since ive got no real bike @ the moment...I will just post a picture of my dream bike, just because its beautiful :D

neverdie.....definitely looks like they made some improvements, faster and lighter as well.....just what's needed hehehehe

crobiker

travelmate's zx10 is without a doubt a killer on the track :-) still though, would like to see that 14 in action :o

Uh, yes...I just realized bike belongs to travelmate, my apologies.

Sure guys, if we ever see each other at some bike meets you can have it for spin. I sure like to try those 2 babies, never had a chance to sit on R1 before.

Travelmate,

Thats a nice looking 10, you've been playing with the brakes, or did you buy it that way?

Brakes are Brembos calipers, with galfer wave discs. Using a brembo master cylinder and goodridge stainless steel brake lines. Awesome stopping power and feel

Yes serious SERIOUS brakes....the brakes are something I always attend to, even the standard equipment is so much better when you put the stainless steel brake lines on. I am imagining you're brakes are probably out performing your tyres...GOOD STUFF!

I did notice that you've only being toying with those rear tyres...whats going on there :o

Ants running new rubbers.

Mine are track tyres. Totally shagged I may add. They need replacing soon. But reckon can squeeze another ride outta of em early in the new year.

I'll be keeping Ant's R1 honest for sure... :D

The advantage is the feedback. With so much feel can bury the front tyre into the tarmac... :o:D
