Something We Can Do?

Featured Replies

Would like to know if there's anything that we can do in the aftermath of the Tsunami. I will be back in Suratthani on Thursday and back home in Samui Friday, that is unless I will be of more use in Phuket.

I have O neg blood and I'm sure there are a lot of us willing to give blood in Samui. Is there anyone currently doing so?

I am also comtemplating getting together an aid package, jumping in the car and driving over to help.

Is there any kind of co-ordinated effort going on currently. I have spoken to my husband about it (he is still there now) but he doesn't know of anything.

I am desperate to help in any way I can. Although everyone I know is okay it was extremely close and my heart goes out to anyone who wasn't so lucky.

Like Khun Jean said in a previous post, we aren't so far away and maybe there is something we can do to help.

I am a tourist arriving in Samui on Wednesday.

I would be happy to give some blood, if you leave me details on how to do it.

just go to Nathon to the hospital. In the second floor your blood donation will be highly appreciated.

Especially rh. negativ but as well all other blood is urgently needed.

Am on the way to give blood now, am also willing to do whatever else I can, lots of free time if anyone needs anything..

Buy extra food and clothes next time you are in Tesco and take them to the cargo section at Samui airport, they will fly them to Phuket/Krabi free of charge for distribution.

I'm probably preaching to the choir now, but just to let you know that although blood is no longer being taken at the government hospital here they will put your name on a register for if they need some urgently. They have already given 50 bags to the affected region so good on you those who donated. I guess the immediate need is over now and it seems like they've had enough for the New Year period over here - fantastic!

Meanwhile any updates on any projects going on to help? Anyone collecting clothes/money etc?
