On my trips deep into Isaan territory I've learned that "road safety" seems to be an unknown expression.

On my expeditions to the local towns and villages I regularly witnessed children routinely riding family scooters on the road knowing full well they were unlicensed.

Police patrols seemed oblivious to this as they rode by doing whatever they do.

It seemed that many adults also were without license and without any training, simply getting on and riding when their time came.

Not sure myself, when a questioned my thai passenger as who had right of way at an intersection, she said, "The other car, because it's bigger, unless the driver has a kind heart".

I also saw the effects of a motorcycle accident suffered by village woman who sustained permanent brain damage due to head injuries.

Being one of two identical twins I could see the stark difference, the result of the trauma she received.

I also witnessed many villagers, after a session of whiskey drinking, step on their scooters and ride of with no protective gear.

Their friends thought nothing of this behaviour as they waived their friend off as he wobbled away.

A dear friend of mine now owns a brand new Honda CBR150R which I suspect is way to powerful for her riding skills.

Carrying no license and without any formal trianing or knowledge in road law, I'm very worried for her safety.

Are there any worthwhile Motorcycle Rider training courses available in North Eastern Thailand?

In particular Udon Thani, Sackorn Nackorn, or Nong Khai area.

Any information would be appreciated.
