Happy New Year y'all,

Got a phrase/saying in my AUA book and I don't understand the translation.

เกดขึัน "ked kun" - born again/arise. Don't know how it's used in a sentence? Also, think there's a mai han aakaat " " that goes above the "sara u" but for some reason my machine won't put it there...

Cheers,

I can't answer your original question Boon Mee :o but the tone sign you refer to is called mai ache. Mai han akaat is the sign that looks like a small e and pronounced as a short a. I hope u understadn what I mean because I can't type thai. :D

เกิดขึ้น

The more accurate translation would be "to occur".

ปรากฏการณ์ซึนามิืเกิดขึ้นที่ชายฝั่งภูเก็ต

The tsunami pheonomenon occurred on the shores of Phuket.

มันเกิดขึ้นที่ซอยงามดูพลี

It happened at Soi Ngarm Duplee.

มันเป็นเรื่องที่เกิดขึ้นเมื่อสมัยกรุงศรี

It was something that happened during the Ayuddthaya period.
